What: Free training on education spending and equity including presentation on the State Budget by the CA Budget and Policy Center, an analysis of San Bernardino’s 33 Local Control & Accountability Plans, and an interactive overview of budget engagement and transparency resources

Agenda:
10am – 12pm: Data Equity Walk & Budget Presentation: Examine how students in the region are performing in kindergarten through college, and explore how we can collectively close achievement gaps and increase access to post-secondary opportunities through state and local budgets. Hear from The California Budget and Policy Center on the state budget and what you need to know about education spending in California.
12pm-1pm: Working Lunch: Community partners will share information about their organization’s work and progress with LCAP/Budget engagement.
1pm-3pm: Budgets & Equity: Participants will engage in an interactive discussion about “LCAP 33”, an analysis of district Local Control & Accountability Plans in San Bernardino County, and “Making Sense of Dollars and Cents: Understanding District Budgets”, a toolkit of resources to increase budget accessibility and transparency.
