Bay Area Headquarters

In 2001, when Ed Trust–West was founded as the California branch of the nationally recognized Education Trust, we chose to establish our headquarters in Oakland — the heart of California’s education equity movement. Ed Trust–West continues to proudly call the culturally rich, progressive, innovative landscape of the Bay Area home. From our headquarters in Jack London Square, our team cultivates deep and reciprocal relationships with leaders from San Francisco to Stockton, from Sonoma to San Jose.

Building Partnerships in Our Home Region

Oakland serves as our headquarters, and the majority of our staff is based out of this office. But the Bay Area is not just a place of work; our roots run deep. Our colleagues are always interested in partnerships and engagements that extend our impact on the students who live here. We’re proud to participate in many regionally-focused coalitions and collaborate with partners, including:

Walking The Talk

We are committed to cultivating a culture of equity and inclusion not only in our external advocacy but also within our own organization. For nearly a decade, Ed Trust–West has invested in and dedicated staff time to an ongoing ‘Walking the Talk’ process to engage all staff in continued learning about the unique historical context of our work in education justice in the Bay Area and to inform our work. We are grateful to the many organizations throughout the Bay Area who have welcomed our staff for learning opportunities, including the Black Liberation Walking Tour, mak-‘amham/Cafe Ohlone, and the West Oakland Mural Project (The Women of The Black Panther Party Mural and Mini Museum).
