Local control funds must go to needy students

What if you had a chance to make sure that billions of dollars were used to fund vital services for students in our poorest schools and communities? That’s the choice facing the members of the State Board of Education. In mid-January, the board will decide how school districts can spend additional education funding for low-income students, English learners and foster youth.
