Multilingual learners are central to California’s future — yet they’re often excluded from college access initiatives. It’s time to change that.  

Our new policy brief, Empowering Futures: Improving College Access for Multilingual Learners, calls on state leaders to prioritize multilingual learners in college access efforts through: 

• Data that helps us better understand multilingual learners’ college-going outcomes. 

• TK-12 schools and districts that foster and value multilingualism. 

• Fairer access to college preparatory courses and programs. 

• Access to in-state tuition and state financial aid. 

• Improved community college access and completion.
