A little more than a year ago, San Jose’s East Side Union High School District, the largest high school district in Northern California, took a bold step by adopting the A-G requirements — 15 courses students need to pass to be eligible for the UC and CSU systems. This past fall, the district enrolled its first true class of A-G freshmen who will undergo close monitoring over the next four years to measure their success.
