Director of Practice
Dr. Sarah Feldman joins the Ed Trust-West team with a wealth of experience in the practice of education. Dr. Feldman is a life-long researcher and educator who worked to improve public education for nearly a decade at WestEd, focusing on the Common Core State Standards, online learning, adolescent literacy, and charter school initiatives in her role as a Senior Research Associate. While with WestEd, Dr. Feldman helped pen the California English Language Arts and English Language Development Curriculum Framework. Most recently, Sarah served as the founding Environmental Education Program Officer at the Pisces Foundation in San Francisco where she helped to develop the strategy for the start-up family foundation. Dr. Feldman also possesses a broad range of experience as an educator; she taught middle school and high school history, supported students as the assistant principal of a public middle school, trained urban principals for New Leaders For New Schools and taught teacher and principal credential classes for graduate students at California State University East Bay and Touro University. Dr. Feldman earned her doctorate in Educational Leadership from Mills College, a master’s degree in Education from Harvard University and a master’s degree in Educational Administration from San Francisco State University, and a BA with honors in History from Brown University.
