Mariah joins ETW with a range of experience in communications for community change and engagement. Mariah is passionate about storytelling, youth advocacy, and community engagement, and comes to Ed Trust-West from the Youth Leadership Institute’s San Francisco office, where she served as a program coordinator for two years. In that role, she partnered with youth to develop media advocacy campaigns that promote health equity and inclusive school culture and policies. Prior to YLI, Mariah developed online communications and engagement in a number of capacities to increase awareness of youth-serving organizations and programming. She also served as a program director for the Boys and Girls Club of Las Vegas, where she managed social media accounts and designed graphics and communications efforts to increase youth engagement and partnerships. Mariah holds a B.A. in American Studies from UC Berkeley, with an emphasis in Community Welfare and Social Policy, and also employs her creative and marketing talents as the founder of Drop Jewels Apparel, a lifestyle and apparel brand designed to explore the intersections between fashion and education.
