Isabella Gordillo (she/her/hers) joins the Education Trust-West team as Communications Associate. Prior to this role, she has worked in administration, program development, and communications. Isabella’s work has revolved around education equity for working-class, low-income and migrant families. Previously, Isabella worked as a staffer for San Francisco Assessor Carmen Chu working primarily on administration and external communications. Before her work in the SF Assessor’s Office, Isabella was the Literacy Program Fellow and the Literacy Program Coordinator at the San Francisco Education Fund, where she worked in underserved San Francisco Unified School District (SFUSD) schools to incorporate literacy tutors into the classroom and administered grants to SFUSD educators. Most recently, Isabella has co-founded Collective Action for Laborers, Migrants, and Asylum Seekers (CALMA) with a group of Bay Area organizers to financially support Bay Area migrants during the pandemic. As a first-generation college student, Isabella attended Emerson College and majored in Political Communication. She is currently attending the University of San Francisco for a Master of Public Administration.
